A six octave Frère et Soeur Stein in Vienna around 1801?

The latest edition of the Piano Bulletin (2016-2 /year 34/n.98 ) published by EPTA Netherlands (European Piano Teachers Association) features an article on the development of a six octave fortepiano in Vienna around 1801. Our first thoughts on this topic were presented on the Stein 1802 Project site in 2015 and  further elaborated in a talk at the YPF conference (the Young Pianists Foundation) at the Muziekgebouw in Amsterdam, last year November.

The article is currently available in Dutch only. For more information on this publication, please refer to the website of EPTA Netherlands.

We will endeavor to provide an English translation of the article published in the Piano Bulletin. It will be available on request, for our non-dutch readers. For enquiries, please contact us at editor[at]stein1802project[dot]com.
